Carbon dating used determine age earth

Most scientists and many Christians believe that the radiometric dating methods prove that the earth is 4.5 billion years old.

The textbooks speak of the radiometric dating techniques, and the dates themselves, as factual information.

Using the known rate of change in radio-active elements (radiometric dating), some Earth rocks have been shown to be billions of years old, while the oldest solar system rocks are dated at 4.6 billion years.

Astronomers use the distance to galaxies and the speed of light to calculate that the light has been traveling for billions of years.

Far from being data, these dates are actually interpretations of the data.

As discussed before, the assumptions influence the interpretation of the data.

Geologists have found annual layers in ice that are easily counted to multiple tens of thousands of years, and when combined with radio isotope dating, we find hundreds of thousands of years of ice layers.Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.Libby and coworkers, and it has provided a way to determine the ages of different materials in archeology, geology, geophysics, and other branches of science. Some examples of the types of material that radiocarbon can determine the ages of are wood, charcoal, marine and freshwater shell, bone and antler, and peat and organic-bearing sediments.Age determinations can also be obtained from carbonate deposits such as calcite, dissolved carbon dioxide, and carbonates in ocean, lake, and groundwater sources.Cosmic rays enter the earth's atmosphere in large numbers every day and when one collides with an atom in the atmosphere, it can create a secondary cosmic ray in the form of an energetic neutron. As you learned in the previous page, carbon dating uses the half-life of Carbon-14 to find the approximate age of certain objects that are 40,000 years old or younger. In the following section we are going to go more in-depth about carbon dating in order to help you get a better understanding of how it works.QUESTION: Can we use radioactive carbon dating to determine the age of the earth? Other radiometric dating methods such as potassium-argon or rubidium-strontium are used for such purposes by those who believe that the earth is billions of years old.ANSWER: Can we use radioactive carbon dating to determine the age of the earth? Radiocarbon is not suitable for this purpose because it is only applicable: a) on a time scale of thousands of years and b) to remains of once-living organisms (with minor exceptions, from which rocks are excluded)."WHAT DO YOU THINK? God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him.

  1. As this is a retirement business I keep my turnover below the VAT registration level so that I am not required to charge VAT on sales saving customers inside the EU at least 9% but this does mean that there is no reduction for customers in other countries. The only good news is that I have been able to buy a few nice Fusee watches (and a good few that have problems which was not good news) and that I managed to built stock before the fly fishing season started.
